Molletes

Ingredients
  • 12 small buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 (440 g) cans Herdez Refried Beans (black or red)
  • 500 g Monterrey Jack cheese, grated
  • 1 (435 g) jar Herdez Homestyle Mexican Sauce
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 220 C. Cut buns in halves and remove the center of the bread to make them hollow and spread with butter.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and fry the chopped onion.
  • When just cooked add Herdez Refried Beans and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Generously spread beans on each half of the bun and then cover with grated cheese.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake the buns until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve with Herdez Homestyle Mexican Sauce.
