Molletes
- 12 small buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 (440 g) cans Herdez Refried Beans (black or red)
- 500 g Monterrey Jack cheese, grated
- 1 (435 g) jar Herdez Homestyle Mexican Sauce
Directions

- Preheat oven to 220 C. Cut buns in halves and remove the center of the bread to make them hollow and spread with butter.
- Heat oil in a skillet and fry the chopped onion.
- When just cooked add Herdez Refried Beans and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Generously spread beans on each half of the bun and then cover with grated cheese.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake the buns until the cheese is melted.
- Serve with Herdez Homestyle Mexican Sauce.
